Welcome To Noble Cottage.

This is a long time family home.
Our parents bought this property when we were just children, but our family has been summer occupants of this area for generations. It is truly an integral part of who we are.

We're very happy to have others experience the peace, joy and wonder that we have enjoyed in this home for our entire lives. It is a special experience like no other.

Seasonal AvailabilityReserve Your Getaway Today!

With the news of the COVID-19 virus dominating the news, we want to reassure all of our guests that you have made the right decision to spend your vacation at  Noble Cottage this summer. We believe that Mt. Desert Island, the National Park, and especially our shorefront home on the quiet side of the island to be some of the safest places to spend this summer's vacation. Fifty yards or more from anyone else, the house is backed by 10 acres of ours and over one hundred acres owned by our two nearest neighbors. This setting offers natural seclusion to buffer you from the madding crowds without being isolated. Additionally, the park is comfortably enjoyed without the need to get elbow to elbow with other visitors. In fact, there are seldom used trails, roads and swimming holes within the park less than 2 miles of our house, where you can surround yourself with the natural beauty of Acadia and Down East Maine without seeing another soul.

We will of course thoroughly clean and disinfect the house immediately prior to your arrival, so you will be able to relax and enjoy yourselves during your stay.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to share them with us and know that your wellness, safety and enjoyment are our priorities. And, we still have some limited availability in July and September, if you know of anyone else looking for a safe and relaxing escape this summer!

Regards,
Roger Noble

Beautiful place to stay

Our family had a great experience staying at Roger's place. The house is a perfect place to relax- quiet and peaceful. The views from the deck are incredible whatever the time or the weather. Roger was very generous with his time and advice, even supplying all the implements we needed to make a lobster dinner. The house itself is great- very clean and comfortable. Accommodated our group of ten with no problem. Definitely recommend a stay at this lovely home.  -- Liz R, July 2019

Place was awesome!!!!

Our party of 10 had a great week in Maine and renting this house was part of what made it so great. When you are traveling with 3 families you need a house you can spread out in. We had plenty of room to have some down time and yet room to congregate as a family.

Each night we anxiously anticipated what the sunset was going to look like. It was always so beautiful. Roger was great at communicating and giving us an overview of the property and answering our questions. The house had everything we needed. Plenty of plates and cookware. The 2 kitchens were a bonus because we were able to use the main refrigerator for food and the smaller refrigerator for adult beverages--(which you need when you are traveling with 4 teenagers!)

The house is laid out on one level. On one end there are two bedrooms and a full bath and on the other end-(the camp end) there were 4 bedrooms and several assorted bathrooms. After 7 trips to Maine--we love the quiet laid back feel of Pretty Marsh and Seal Harbor. Best sunsets on the Island. -- Susan H., July 2017

Lobsters and sunsets

We had a wonderful week at the Nobles' estate. Lobsters on the deck overlooking the sound; kayaking on the still waters by morning; a cool beer or a glass of wine as watched the sun go down in the west. Everything was grand.

Location was very nice - quiet and secluded, but 15 minutes to SW Harbor; 10 minutes to nearest lobster pound; 10-15 minutes through the forest to a nice swimming hole in the Long Pond; only 25-30 minutes to traverse the entire island. Well-stocked kitchen, including everything you need to boil shellfish. The two wings of the home made it perfect for our multi-generational traveling party. Roger was a great host, too, available if we had any questions. -- Brad K., August 2016

Spectacular View, Accommodating Host

The view... I can't put into words how gorgeous it was. Tons of towels, linens, kitchenware. They had endless supply of board/card games making evenings entertaining. Roger was chalk full of information on nearby places to go. Two separate living areas made it nice for kids to be on one side with adults on the other. The view. Did I mention the view? The spacious deck? The kayak??? And he has lobster pots so we had fresh lobster one evening. An amazing stay full of memories we will cherish always. -- Laurel B., August 2018
